Blended Colors

Hallstatt Lake

Doing travel photography often means that you cannot always be in "the right place at the right time". You move a lot from place to place and there is never enough time to photograph everything that you would like. Unfortunately, especially when photographing landscapes, taking advantage of the best hours of the day, or rather sunrise and sunset, it isn't always possible. Not to mention that the weather may not be on our side... In addition to planning the trip well and planning to spend the night close to places that deserve to be photographed in the best hours, many times you need a little bit of luck too.
When I took this picture, I was going along the road that runs along the great Lake Hallstatt, Austria, between the village of the same name and the diversion toward the beautiful Gosau. I was in the classic right place at the right time when I found myself in front of this magnificent sunset. The lake was so still that it created a magical mirror and the landscape was perfectly duplicated in its waters. I took this photo by hand and without filters. The silence and wonder of the place did the rest...

The solitude of ‪Rhino‬...

The solitude of ‪Rhino‬...

Today I'll tell you about one picture taken on my last trip, in South Africa. It's a picture that I particularly love for the depth of field: vegetation frames the rhino and enclosing it alone in a kind of tunnel, almost in a symbolic way. To Explore the Kruger National Park is an indescribable experience and I'll say it again, but a close encounter with a rhino is a rare event, because unfortunately these animals are now rare.
I was lucky to see this rhino in the Kruger National Park in a moment when it was just me. Just me and him. It was amazing to be able to closely observe this magnificent animal. It was a young specimen, beautiful and majestic, and while it was there, in front of me, I wondered if it would ever reach old age. Last year, 300 rhinos were killed just in the Kruger National Park only, and now it is a species on the brink of extinction. This is only because some medicinal capacities, have been stupidly attributed to its horn. Mankind will never stop killing, but when we lose a species forever, we lose a part of our family and our history.
